Good times are always short-lived. In just two and a half days, we went back and forth to Shuanglang, Lijiang, and Dali, from a quiet fishing village to a noisy ancient town, and then back to the dreamlike Cangshan Mountain and Erhai Lake. A superficial itinerary will always bring some regrets, but the thrill of being there is unforgettable.
What made me feel so much about this trip? Is it the wind, flowers, snow and moon in Cangshan and Erhai? Or the green mountains and beautiful waters spread out by the scroll? Or is it the people here, the folk customs here, or even the breath of the wind here? Neither, I think, is a kind of emotion that becomes new with the passage of time, a kind of touching and moving brought by being with the right person in the right environment.
About travel, about emotions, my doubts were solved one by one in the conversation with Benben.
Benben and Il, who were childhood sweethearts, entered the palace of marriage one day in February 2006. On the afternoon of the wedding day, the two flew directly to Kunming. The honeymoon trip in Yunnan 10 years ago kicked off their travel life. This is a backpacking trip without a destination. They have traveled all the way from Dali, Lijiang, Shangri-La, Lugu Lake, and Jiuzhaigou. They fell in love with the feeling of being on the road for the first time. The simplicity of the Bai people, the architecture of the Naxi people, the style of the Mosuo people and everything during the journey, these different scenery and different humanities deeply touched them. What impressed me the most was Dali, the first stop of the honeymoon, just like the song “Beside Cangshan and Erhai Lake, you are by my side, this summer is different from before…” Just like their state of mind at that time, deeply The feeling of love needs no words.
“I have come to Dali many times, and every time I feel different, but the same thing is that people will be very relaxed. When I am in Dali, some trivial things in the world disappear.” Benben recalled, “The Shuanglang 10 years ago has not been developed yet, At night, there is no other light except for the fishing fire, and the unique dinner of the fishermen by the sea is full of fragrance, and the night with the sea breeze is still memorable.”
From the backpacking trip at the beginning to the self-driving trip later, whenever Benben has a vacation, he will go to Dali. In 2012, Benben, who drove a Mazda 3, came to Dali again; in 2013, he traveled to Muli and turned back to Dali; in 2015, he entered Tibet along 317 and turned to Dali on the way back; During the Spring Festival of 2016 a few months ago, I brought my parents, wife and children to visit the old place again. There is no reason, Dali is like a distant home, and concerns and longings often linger in my heart.
There are blue sky, white clouds, Cangshan Mountain and Erhai Lake here, which are both illusory and dreamlike, simple and real. In fact, you don’t need a reason to like a place. “I think this place is very comfortable, especially the feeling of cycling along the road around the lake during the day is wonderful.” Benben said, “The feeling on the road is not important where you go, it depends on who you are with.”
What you gain from traveling is happiness. No matter how the years change, that precious memory will be cherished in the bottom of my heart, and the happy moments will be frozen in the image. After having a child, there is another cute little angel on the journey. The Benben couple are very supportive of taking the child on a trip. Reading thousands of books and traveling thousands of miles, traveling is very helpful for children’s growth and understanding of the world. .
Benben, who is busy with his daily work, can only travel during the annual holidays. The Spring Festival and National Day holidays have become Benben’s unshakable travel time. In order to make up for the holidays, other small holidays and Saturdays and Sundays are spent in overtime. In the past few years, the Benben couple traveled with some like-minded friends, and they were very happy. With the passage of time, everyone who is busy with work has less time to travel, and only the stupid couple is still on the way. Friends who used to travel together are envious of the stupid couple, because they are the only ones who are still doing what they like.
Life is the same everywhere, the difference is how to live. In real life, couples will inevitably have conflicts, differences, and even quarrels due to trivial matters in life, and the stupid couple is no exception. “There will be ups and downs in the relationship, but the only thing that can heal the ups and downs in the relationship is travel.” Benben revealed the secret of their long-lasting relationship. Whether in years of urban life or on the road, Il has given Benben a lot of support. “Life is not all smooth sailing. When there are setbacks and failures in life, it is my wife who gives me great encouragement. It is difficult for me to take care of my family when I am away from work. It is my wife who supports me alone. Although Yier people are thin and small, they are very strong inside. . “Benben fell into deep thought.
I went to Yaqing Temple in Aba Prefecture on the National Day. When I climbed the 4,600-meter-high mountain, Il fell into a coma with serious anti-climbing conditions. Il resolutely took on the heavy responsibility of driving. When Benben woke up, Il had already turned over. That mountain; a few days later, they crossed the Queer Mountain. In order to take care of Yi Er who was not feeling well, Benben also endured Gao Fan’s discomfort and insisted on driving. Needless to say, the tacit understanding and support between husband and wife are reflected in every bit of the journey.
People are like this, every time they are on the road, they have already begun to look forward to the next time. For this year’s travel, Benben already has plans, “I want to go to Xinjiang within this year. I went alone for the first time a few years ago. This time I plan to go by car, with my wife and children. Because I bought Changan Mazda CX-5, will have more travel, it really brought me a new way of life.”
The time to get together is always short. Today we will bid farewell to the Benben couple and return to Beijing, and Benben and Yier will go to Mangshi to continue their wonderful journey.
