Compared with ordinary RVs, the cost of off-road RVs is obviously higher, and the size limitation also restricts the expansion of its internal space. Therefore, the platform of an off-road RV is naturally bigger and better. We have launched the case of off-road RV based on Unimog before, but compared with the off-road RV on Zetros platform that will be mentioned next, the Unimog can only be regarded as a small apartment.
In Mercedes-Benz’s off-road vehicle camp, Zetros is a large off-road vehicle platform positioned higher than the Unimog. The larger body provides more space. This time, the Pure 500 Zetros RV solution launched by the Australian RV company Action Mobil is based on the Zetros 1883 chassis. The full-time four-wheel drive system and huge ground clearance of the original platform no longer need to further enhance its off-road performance. The matching power system is a 243 kW diesel engine with a maximum output torque of 1300 Nm. This ensures that the Pure 500 Zetros motorhome can overcome most terrains.
In terms of the architecture of the living quarters, the chassis of the Zetros 1883 offers great convenience. In Action Mobil’s solution, it is no longer limited to comprehensive functions, but has been further upgraded to a sense of luxury. In the layout of the living area, the Pure 500 Zetros offers a small kitchen with a gas stove, sink and dishwasher. A small washroom is provided in front of the kitchen. The rear of the living area is the layout of the living room, which provides functions including a bed, sofa, wardrobe, small dining table, etc. In some details of the living cabin, small storage spaces can also be found everywhere. The interior color scheme of the living area is also very homely.
In terms of self-sustainability, the Pure 500 Zetros RV can carry 460L of fresh water for daily use, and there is also a 140L waste water tank. The fuel tank has a volume of 600L, which is enough to meet the needs of long-term battery life. In addition, the solar panels on the roof can provide 1110 watts of electricity load.
In terms of the market, Action Mobil is currently producing on an order-to-order basis, so the specific program specifications have not been announced. It is worth noting that, in addition to the four-wheel-drive Zetros 1883 chassis, Action Mobil can also take orders for eight-wheel drive. Of course, the cost is naturally higher.
