As an important part of the 3rd World Smart Driving Challenge, the 3rd World Intelligent Driving Challenge adheres to the goal of “high starting point, mainstream entry, internationalization, and uniqueness”. The competition is sponsored by the National Development and Reform Commission, the Ministry of Science and Technology, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the State Administration of Press, Publication, Radio, Film and Television, the State Internet Information Office, the Chinese Academy of Sciences, the Chinese Academy of Engineering, the China Association for Science and Technology and the Tianjin Municipal People’s Government. It is organized by Research Center Co., Ltd., China Association of Productivity Promotion Centers, China Artificial Intelligence Society Intelligent Driving Professional Committee, and Tianjin Dongli District People’s Government.

This year’s World Intelligent Driving Challenge consists of “one competition, one meeting, and one display experience”. “One Competition” is the World Intelligent Driving Challenge – this event is dedicated to building a world-class smart car brand event, building a global smart car communication platform, and building an international technical practice evaluation standard. A series of three-dimensional, practical, and all-round evaluations, such as unmanned driving, provide authoritative, fair, and third-party services for the technological progress of smart cars, the exchange of standards and regulations, and the popular science of the public. It is reported that there are a total of 84 participating teams in this competition, among which there are four adjustments to the content of the competition: First, in terms of competition groups, three groups are set up: unmanned driving challenge, information security challenge and virtual scene challenge , no longer set up intelligent assistance competitions; second, the composition of the unmanned driving challenge has been adjusted from three competitions in the second session to four, including country cross-country races, highway races, urban block races and IEC extreme races, which are newly added this year The IEC extreme competition was launched to test the judgment ability of participating vehicles in terms of path planning and ethical dilemmas; the third is to adjust the number of scenes and scenes in the unmanned driving challenge. Among them, 16 scenes are set for the rural cross-country competition, and 16 scenes are set for the urban block competition. 21 scenes are set up, 5 scenes are set for the highway race, and 3 scenes are set for the IEC extreme race. The change of the scene increases the difficulty of the competition to meet the development needs of intelligent networked vehicle technology; the fourth is the information security challenge The competition system has been changed, and there are four stages of preliminary competition, rematch, final and play-offs. The play-offs can be selected according to the team’s own situation. The change of the competition system has improved the appreciation of the event.
