Lijiang – Shangri-La Thousand Lakes Mountain/Little Zhongdian

This is a journey so beautiful that people can’t calm down. Shangri-La, a world-renowned paradise, lives up to its reputation. If you don’t know its beauty yet, it’s because you don’t know much about it yet.
From Lijiang to Shangri-La, many people only know that there is Tiger Leaping Gorge on the way (and it is only the most common upper tiger jump, but they don’t know that there are wonderful middle tiger jumps and lower tiger jumps). In fact, Little Zhongdian and Qianhu Mountain are the soul of Shangri-La. Their beauty is at least comparable to or even surpassed by Pudacuo, China’s first national forest park.

The spotless alpine wildflower forest lakes of Qianhu Mountain are actually synonymous with paradise.

Qianhu Mountain/Little Zhongdian – Shangri-La – Meili Snow Mountain

From Qianhu Mountain to Meili Snow Mountain (Feilai Temple), there are many beautiful scenery waiting for you along the way, including the Yila Grassland, Napa Sea, Baima Snow Mountain, and finally, of course, the magnificent sunset of Meili Snow Mountain.

Travel: about 170 km / 5 hours

First of all, what you should look forward to the most is Kawagebo Rizhao Jinshan in Meili Snow Mountain. This day should be an important day in your life.

Then, from Meili Snow Mountain to Bingzhongluo, you need to cross the Lancang River, cross the Biluo Snow Mountain in the westernmost range of the Hengduan Mountains, and then cross the Nujiang River to reach Bingzhongluo, the legendary place where “humans and gods live together”.

Bingzhongluo – Tsavalon – Muruo Village/Zhimei Village
Travel: about 300 km / 7 hours

Finally entered “Bingchacha”, it is really worth getting excited about. More importantly, though, is the thrill of driving safely.
In this section, the most commendable are the cliffs, deep valleys and large quicksands.

Muruo Village – Zayu – Ranwu Lake
Travel: about 350 km / 9 hours
Accommodation: Ranwu Lake
Go through a virgin forest, climb two snow-capped mountains, walk a hundred kilometers of washboard road, enter Zayu County, and finally complete Bingchacha, a top road in the hearts of self-drivers and off-roaders.

In Tingri County, among the peaks of the Himalayas, there are at least five peaks worthy of our admiration in terms of height and appearance. They include Zhangzifeng (7543m), Menlongze (7175m), Labjikang (7367m), Ziburi (5500m) and Gyatsola (5220m).
