In 2017, I ran two big long-distance races. One was to attend the annual meeting of the Tule Family in Urad Back Banner, Inner Mongolia in May, and the other was to participate in the 12th Off-Road E Family Heroes Meeting in Alxa, Inner Mongolia in October. Basically, every month Once there was an activity inside and outside the province, it can be regarded as going up mountains, going down water, crossing deserts, but never going to plateaus.
At the beginning of 2018, I ran the long-distance twice. In January, I crossed Bingchacha in winter. In February, I ran Banna, Laos Luang Prabang and Guangxi. In the past year, this Patrol has changed four tires, and the right front tire was changed Except for losing the tire pressure monitor and keeping the warning light on, there was basically nothing else that disturbed us.
At the beginning of July 2017, I accompanied the captain of the Xiangpu Brigade to go to Tianjin Port Oushi Xinchunsheng to pick up an off-road version of Lu Xun 4600. I drove 2/3 of the way back to Changsha, and I felt relaxed immediately when I returned home. A lot, the Lu Xun 4600 definitely has advantages in terms of power and off-road performance, but in terms of long-distance driving handling, comfort, fuel consumption, and especially the roll of off-ramps, the Tourer still has advantages.
After playing in the desert in Alxa last year, I still felt that the power of the 4.0 was a little insufficient. On January 21 this year, we organized a winter crossing of Bingchacha with the Tourle Family Hunan and Guangdong columns. Lack of motivation.
I also consulted a few brothers who have modified the supercharger before, and everyone’s reply is not a big problem, so I want to take this opportunity to modify the power. Once the idea is established, contact the out-of-print brothers of Changsha Yunliang Automobile Modification to pay a deposit and deliver the car. On January 13, the car will be delivered to Yunliang for modification. On January 17, we will go to Yunliang to see the modification.

Because I am doing decoration design, I really don’t understand machinery and electronic products, and sometimes I can’t turn on the TV when I live in a hotel, so I really don’t know the specific data and parameters of mechanical supercharging. Clearly, I don’t dare to fool you, let’s talk about the feeling of using the car after installing the supercharger kit compared to before the modification.

Compared with the feeling of using the car before the modification after installing the supercharger kit: the engine speed has decreased a bit, and the 0-100 acceleration time will be tested later. Before the overtaking and rapid acceleration, I felt a little powerless. Sometimes I need to change manual gears and reverse gears to accelerate. After the modification, overtaking It’s very easy, and there is a clear sense of pushing back when accelerating rapidly. There is no need to change manual gears and downshifts to accelerate, and the speed will respond immediately when the accelerator is applied. When crossing Bingchacha in the winter at an altitude of 4000-5000, the other two Toule 40s ran 60 yards and it was already floor oil. My throttle felt that there was still a lot of leeway, and the linear response during acceleration was good without any lag. The feeling of exertion.
Let’s start with the fuel consumption that everyone is most concerned about. The records should be relatively detailed, including road conditions, temperature, altitude, fuel prices in various places, time consumption, etc. Vehicle load: I have a Toule SE40 with two people on the car, additional winch, lathe magic box, snow chains, stove, maintenance and rescue tools and luggage; a Toule XE40, two people on the car, snow chains, Rescue tools and luggage; a Toule XE40, two people + two 12-year-old children in the car, equipped with a lathe magic box, anti-skid chains, rescue tools and luggage.

Day 1, Changsha-Kunming
From picking up the car to the present, it has always been on the license plate. Before the modification, it is basically at 140-160 when running at high speed, and the speed is maintained at 2600-2800. When overtaking, sometimes it is necessary to manually downshift to increase the speed.
It was the first time I refueled at the Xinhuang service area in Hunan Province. I ran 444 kilometers in the whole process. When running at high speed, it was basically at 140-160, the highest speed was 180, and the highest speed was 3000-3100 rpm.

This is the mileage from Changsha to the hotel in Kunming. The altitude of Kunming is 1891 meters. I ran 1392 kilometers, including eating and resting for 13 hours.

The 180-kilometer road from Chawalongyo to Chayu is the shortest, most dangerous, and most beautiful and original route among the routes into Tibet. It has to pass through three high-altitude passes. The highest pass is 4,780 meters above sea level. Snow. Except for the last 25 kilometers from the Bingchacha sign to Zayu County, Provincial Highway 201 is an asphalt road, and the remaining 150 kilometers are basically original gravel, gravel, and dirt roads. When it rains, the dirt road turns into a mud road, and the road condition is poor. It is recommended that at least four-wheel drive high-chassis vehicles cross. Try to start at dawn. If everything goes well, you can finish the journey in about 8 hours. There are no gas stations and supplies along the way. Be sure to bring vehicle rescue, escape tools, dry food, drinking water, warm clothes and other items.

After passing the second pass at an altitude of 4519 meters, the downhill must rely on manual gear shifting to control the speed of the car. Remember not to step on the brakes, otherwise there will be a tail-flicking and rollover accident
On such a section of road, you must keep your spirits up and pay attention to controlling the speed of the vehicle. A little carelessness in the operation will cause the car to crash and kill people.
Going down the mountain to Muruo Village at an altitude of 3748 meters, I felt that I was going the wrong way when I started from here, and I went back to find two Tibetan brothers to guide us, and later found that the direction I was going before was correct.

This time, the Tourle Family Hunan and Guangdong Columns jointly crossed Bingchacha in winter. Our car departed from Changsha, Hunan Province at 12:00 noon on January 21st and ended successfully at 3:00 am on February 5th. It lasted 16 days and traveled through Hunan. , Guizhou, Yunnan, Tibet, Sichuan, and Jacuzzi provinces, with a total journey of 7,039 kilometers. The road conditions on the way range from low altitudes to high altitudes, and there are various road surfaces such as high-speed, muddy, gravel, snow, and rivers. I am satisfied with the overall evaluation of the supercharger kit. There is no failure on the way, smooth linear acceleration, abundant power, normal mechanical sound, and no big difference in fuel consumption. However, whether the supercharger kit has an impact on the engine, its durability, and later maintenance costs cannot be confirmed. It is recommended for riders who have purchased the Patrol Y62-40 and are not satisfied with the power to install it.
